2012 Mango Season has Drawn to a Close! |
Welcome to the wonderful world of
Southwest Florida Mangos.
Pine Island's finest! Taste the difference in our heirloom mangos: original Florida Haden, Kent and Keitt mangoes. Growers Bill and Mary Cyzewski have owned this grove since 1990. We are a small, family operated grove . The majority of our crop is the Kent cultivar, proclaimed by many as the best tasting Florida mango. We have a samplings of other cultivars (Haden, Irwin, Keitt, Bombay, Tommy Atkins). Each mango is hand picked and treated gently. We use no pesticides or fungicides on our trees or fruit. We select your order the day of your pick-up or the day they are shipped. Fruit picking will be determined by the mangoes themselves, and we anticipate mid June for Hadens and Irwins, July thru August for the Kents and Keitts.
Mangos are naturally delicious, nutritious and healthful. Mangos have substantial levels of potassium,
provitamin A (B-carotene) and vitamin C and are low in fat and sodium.
Our fruit are picked fully mature which can accommodate shipping as well as packing for safe travel. Final ripening of the fruit off the tree allows it to ripen more evenly and develop a better flavor. They will ripen properly if you follow a few simple guidelines, which will be enclosed with your order.

Fruit descriptions in order of harvest:
Haden Mangos
Haden mangos are oval and smooth (12-20 ozs). The flesh is firm with some fiber. The flavor of the Haden defines the mango for many in the tropics: it is rich, sweet with luscious peach and pineapple flavor. Excellent for all uses. Quintessential mango flavor and beauty. Mid June –early July
Irwin mangos
Irwin mangos are slightly oblong and are crimson red to yellow and the flesh has no fiber (12-19 oz). The flavor is sweet and mild. Irwins are a widely enjoyed fruit and have an elegant citrus and blossom nose, with pretty flavors of plum & peach. Late June - early July
Kent mangos
Kent mangos, widely acknowledged as the best tasting Florida mango are the primary fruit in our grove due to its excellent taste and texture. They are oval, with a smooth and waxy skin (24 -32 ozs) While Kents retain their green color when ripe, the flesh is deep orange, meltingly soft and juicy with an exceptionally rich, sweet flavor. In a word: delicious. July – August
Keitt mangos
Keitt mangos herald the end of our mango season (August- Sept). The flesh of a Keitt has a beautiful lemon yellow color, has no fiber and the fruit is quite large (24- 40 ozs) Keitts have a sweet flavor with rich layers of coconut, berry and lime notes with creamy vanilla and lush peach flavors. July - August
